10k4 & 1269 To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards} c. HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}11/MH.{M. Huckerby}21.8.39. B.80 WATER PUMP. We understand that some confusion regarding the priority of these water pumps has arisen, and we give below a list showing order of precedence. (1) Modifications to existing pump to SCT.112. instructed Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}4/JH.18.7.39, and final drawings issued By/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design}2/AW.27.7.39. Intended for rig tests. (2) Water pump to SCD.1398, instructed By/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design} 2/AW.14.7.39 to be fitted to .B.50 for France with 2 more pumps for 30.G.VII and rig tests. It is anticipated that these pumps will replace the existing B.80 type which are unsatisfactory and both items (1) and (2) should be urged as much as possible. (3) Water pump SCD.1328 is not considered of exceptional urgency. one pump should be completed, but should not be given precendence over items (1) and (2).
