TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} X7810 ORIGINAL EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}6/27.5.29. copy to B. W. P. SECRET. RE SIZE OF WHEELS FOR "S.S." For 18.EX and 23EX. we instructed that 20ins. rims should be used. We believe that Derby have given us some rather general remarks to the effect that they somewhat spoil the steering. We believe that "R" still wishes us to try ~~them~~ on all light cars where a low appearance is essential. We have not mentioned these wheels on the prints which we have issued to the coachbuilders for the Show Cars. We would be glad if Derby could give us a report on these wheels, and if it is desired issue the standardisation sheet in due course. We could then have them on such of the Show Cars ~~xxx~~ that they would benefit. We would send the coachbuilder small extra prints of the rear wheel-arch for these smaller wheels. In connection with the Trials Cars, 25.EX. Barker Phaeton, and 24EX. Barker Sports Saloon, these have been made for the 20.ins. wheels. We could alter 25EX. but 24EX. would be a difficult task. We think a decision on this matter is of rather great importance. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
