To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from EFC. c. BY/Cgh.{W Clough} EFC1/T23.3.27. BATTERY IGNITION. X.4541. Referring to By/Cgh{W Clough}21/G22.3.27, I think the D.O. have satisfactorily demonstrated the fact therein referred to that the rate of break is not increased. At the same time, however, they have instructed a different cam which will definitely give a larger rate of break on the standard lever. We have therefore three definite experiments, firstly, the effect of the off-set cam only, secondly, the effect of increased rate of break only, and thirdly, the combined effect of the two, i.e. utilising the new cam with the new lever. It may turn out to be an advantage in this respect that any improvement which may occur may then be assigned definitely to one of the two changes. EFC. | ||
