Modifications to a gearbox casing, shafts, and other internal components.

- 2 - 21 HDY.{William Hardy}/HP.19.4.34. ------------------ speeds and we can now use the same plungers and springs throughout the box. It has also been possible to avoid cutting away any of the 2nd speed clutch teeth. The first motion shaft has been increased in diameter to give a cone for the clutch shaft coupling of the same diameter as for the Phantom. The front half of the casing is considerably modified as the gear lever shaft is to be as far forward as possible. We shall shortly send a drawing of these modifications. The rear half of the casing is as for the J.3. box except for some temporary pattern modifications to provide for the wider 2nd speed gears and for an increased length of reverse shaft bush.
