Having ascertained that Wakefield's HI-Press light gear oil was used in the gear box, we wrote to Paris for a supply. Wakefield's replied that though they had none in stock, they would obtain some and forward it on to us. Two or three days after our enquiry, we received a gallon.

In the meantime as we had some HI-Press heavy oil in stock, we used that momentarily. With the heavy loss of oil from the box, our stock is just about deleted, and we have ordered a further supply from Paris. We shall be pleased to receive the oil you are sending out. We are sorry you cannot reproduce the leak, the same as with the clutch, but both are dam bad on this Car. I remember pointing out to L. Swindall, oil pouring out of the his clutch case from the Engine on the bed.

We are right up against both.

We have examined the change speed rod and found that it has been drilled according to your sketch. There were two breather holes drilled in the tube, one at the bottom to let the oil out, and I suppose the one at the side to breath. Having broken three temperature gauges during our last trip, we are on the short side, having six in use at the moment. We will however, fit one to the gear box and obtain the maximum temperature of the oil. We are taking necessary steps to obtain the pressure.

We have to-day, received the front intermediate lever to give more front braking, but not the rear equaliser, which in your memo of the 13th June, should have come along with it.
