Dunlop Detachable Wheels and Hubs. Letters and figures to be employed to identify various types of wheels and hubs. We have found it necessary to amend the information given in Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}4/NJ22.12.26 and shall be glad if you will cancel said note and substitute this note for same. We have instructed the Dunlop Rubber Co. and their associates the Dunlop Rim & Wheel Co. that the identification letters and numbers to be employed are as follows:- 40/50 HP. Chassis. E.5 Detachable wire wheel with rim for 895 mm. x 135 mm. beaded edge tyres or 33" x 5" S/S tyre for our 40/50 HP. chassis; corresponding hubs Front F.9788/9 and Rear G.2774/5. These wheels were fitted up to the end of Series R.{Sir Henry Royce} (prior to the introduction of front wheel brakes). E.5 Detachable wire wheel with rim for 33" x 5" S/S tyre for 40/50 HP. chassis; corresponding hubs Front G.70443/4 Rear G.2774/5. These wheels were fitted in Series S, T & U. Conversions and up to the end of Series B.2. GWB.5 Detachable wire wheel with 5" x 21" wellbase rim for 6.75" section tyre for 40/50 HP. chassis; corresponding hubs Front G.74260/1 Rear G.74923/4. These wheels have been fitted in Series C.2 and since. J.5 Detachable artillery type steel wheel, 10 spokes, with rim for 33" x 5" S/S tyre for 40/50 HP. chassis; corresponding hubs Front F.9788/9 Rear G.2774/5. H.5 Detachable artillery type steel wheel, 12 spokes, with rim for 33" x 5" S/S tyre for 40/50 HP. chassis; corresponding hubs Front G.72908/9 Rear G.72930/1.
