DRB AL RIVERS (117) Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} (CJ.R. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}Na.{Mr Nadin}) Rivets must contact drum for temp conduction to stop squeak. Copper ones & a few alum rivets do not wear down rivets & to date haven't come to any harm. I propose to continue. Radley seems happy about it. 2" wide traps not yet to hand. Daimler side brake also does more on N. side on Radley's car. Seems to be something in this phenomenon. Lower leverage R.{Sir Henry Royce}'s memo plenty low enough now. No a/p must any more present brakes pull matt'l. No m/o/d or fitted on new car after this week. Must be looked on that current brake work is for use in testing only. (125) CJ Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}/Mer (tc) of Mr Williamson's chassis 13-11-14. extract from letter of 7-11-14. I'm perfectly satisfied with the brakes on my car & cannot say they have ever been well up to improved. I've no further use for them, all brakes on Front & Back wheels but would rather fancy this may induce skidding under certain condition. I think the latest method is a great improvement constructionally as it relieves the transmission parts of the braking wear & tear. Mr Williamson's car will of course be fitted with the v latest type of DRB containing all the recent mods & improvements. | ||
