The Bentley was preigniting towards the top and continued to run after being switched off. Upon restarting slow running was good, no sign of rich mixture.

There was no sign of pre-ignition with 22-G-V.{VIENNA} This concluded our days test. We are going to take temperatures etc. with top gear work to reduce speed and obtain if possible the efficiency of the radiators.

With regard to the Bentley, we have had rather severe front brake jagge. It is serious. In my opinion the spring loaded axle control is the cause, and I am going to make the bottom bearing choc-a-bloc. We know definitely that any looseness in the axle control produces brake jagge.

We had signs of it on the 25 and found slack in the top ball joint, since making this O.K. there has not been the least sign.

We lost a little time on the test because I was too ill to carry on.
