(2) R I took particular care to see the arrangement of central levers as fitted to the chassis at the Show. I was pleased to find there was nothing quite equal in quality, mechanically or in the arrangement, to that on the Goshawk, in fact I thought the designing generally did not shew the care that we consider profitable to put upon it, and much of the work shewn last year has disap- peared probably through proving defective. I should anticipate that this experience will be repeated, for in- stance the large Renault car. Moreover many of the big chassis looked, and I believe are extremely heavy. Regarding our present 40/50 I have just received from the Works my old car - 6.EX - and though I have not tried it beyond Chichester, I think the modifications that we have in hand, which includes fitting it with much of the Goshawk electrical equipment, are a decided improve- ment, and considerable credit is due to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} for proposing to fit the Goshawk parts. A list of modifications on 6.EX. enclosed. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
