| 1020. EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}1/JH. 18th August, 1938. Messrs. Vandervell Products Ltd., Western Avenue, Park Royal, W.3. Dear Sirs, We are in receipt of your letter of the 15th. and note that you have held up the Order No.63622 in abeyance, pending a reply to your letter of July 27th., which was addressed to Mr. Robotham. We thank you for the information given in your letter of the 27th., and confirm that we are adhering to reaming after the bearings have been pressed into position in the housings. In view of this therefore, we shall be pleased if you will proceed with the order No.63622 as per our official letter Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/ms.7/P.9.8.38. as we shall shortly require these bearings for the assembly of the unit. Whilst writing we would like to take the opportunity of ordering another 3 sets of main bearings (Babbit) similar to the sets previously received in accordance with your scheme L.1076 and will instruct for an official order to follow. Another point on which we are particularly interested is in regard to the rocker bushes B.2204 and little end bushes B.2203 which you supplied to us some timeago and are now undergoing tests. In our letter of the 9th June, we asked for quotations of B.2204 in quantities of 1,000, 2,000 and 5,000 and B.2203 in quantities of 500, 1,000 and 2,000 and would be obliged if you could supply us with these figures.
