(2) system which has a P.II. rear expansion box. GENERAL PERFORMANCE. This unit has given 110 B.H.P. with no air intake sil-encer, the same carbs with 1.0" chokes, and a two exhaust cam camshaft.(Curve Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}64). This was without loss of low speed M.E.P. As it is, the output is about 20 HP. better than the standard unit at 3750 R.P.M. or 85 M.P.H. and the acceleration round about 40 M.P.H. is very good indeed.(Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}65). The unit is, we think, very little rougher than the standard car at any point in its speed range, and only slightly more susceptible to detonation owing to the turbulent head. We should like to have the opportunity of fitting it with resonant type Air Intake and Exhaust silencers and improved carburetters in the course of a few weeks. The car is quite free from detonation on B.P. plus but will function all right on any fuel with an octane rating of 70 or over, i.e. Shell, Pratts High Test, Power, Ethyl, or Pratts Benzol mixture.
