X.2641 - RE. 40/50 PRESS BUTTON STARTER SWITCH.

One of the above, the case of which was made entirely of Bakelite was passed on to me on Oct. 23rd. last, and has since been used on our 40/50 Works Trials Car,'1. LW.

Since fitted the car has run about 1,250 miles but during this time the push button switch has been used very considerably, the use of this car being such that the starting up is continually occurring. Instructions were also given for the switch to be roughly used.

No trouble has been experienced with the switch and the condition seems to be as good as ever. I certainly feel that some consideration should be given as to whether this type of switch could not be standardised especially as I understand it is cheaper to produce, and certainly looks a very nicely finished job, and at the same time will be definitely free from all earthing troubles, which we have experienced in the past with the present metal type.
