SIAM WRAITH 133" WB.{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}

RBS. 1843 - Revised Rear End - Park Ward Touring Limousine.

Reason for Scheme.

In order to increase the petrol tank capacity we have been compelled to redesign the boot. We have taken this opportunity to reshape the whole of the rear end on the lines suited to the 7-passenger limousine, thus making common to both bodies most parts aft of the rear wheels.

Associated Drawings.

Description.

It was necessary to increase the rear body overhang by 2" so the whole of the boot surface has been modified. The effect of the increased length has been minimised by the introduction of more curvature into the plan view contours and the use of rear bumpers of similar radius as Siam (RBS.1560).

Using Siam rear overriders this increase in the overall length of the car will be only .95". The new wing contours show the horizontal swaged rib removed from the lower part of the wing and the standard Siam winker unit mounted into a fin formation on the top of the wing.

A slightly different interpretation of the wing 'eyebrow' sections is introduced on this scheme and the front wing eyebrow sections should be modified to match.

Due to the customary taper of the body conflicting with the widening of the chassis frame towards the rear, it has been necessary to find a suitable position for the tail pipe at this stage of the design. Consequently, we show positions for the end of the tail pipe both for the 133" and the 145" wheelbase chassis.

In the course of this rear end redesign work we have extended the applied waist moulding rearwards.
