X4050 Expl: Dept: X4565 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rml/LG. 23rd. Oct. 1926. Messrs. The Dunlop Rubber Co.Ltd., Fort Dunlop, Erdington, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Healey. Mr. Paull's Office. We are anxious to know exactly what sizes of tyres of different makes are at present available in Great Britain and on the Continent for the well base rims we are at present fitting to our 40/50 HP. and 20 HP. cars. In addition we should like to know which of the tyres available have an effective diameter which corresponds approximately to the 4¾" and 6.75" tyres. We should like to know whether you have conducted any experiments with the heavy inner tubes as yet. Our own results so far shew that they are a definite palliative for high speed wobbles. We hope shortly to be able to give you a demonstration of the effect of peripheral weight on high speed wobbles on our road wheel drum testing rig. Yours faithfully, | ||
