Messrs. Lodge Plugs, Ltd.,
Rugby.

For the attention of Mr. Alec M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Lodge.

Dear Sir,

We beg to refer you to your letter in which you enclosed an indemnity covering us for the use of your screened plugs. We have considered this matter in conjunction with our Administration and we regret to inform you that they are definitely adverse to the use of any screened plugs which might infringe the patent of another concern and which infringement would be our responsibility when fitting the screened plug to our engine.

We feel therefore that you must immediately get into touch with Messrs. K.L.G., regarding the question of screened plugs and settle the matter between yourselves to the satisfaction of the K.L.G. Co., before we can proceed any further in the question of buying or testing Lodge screened sparking plugs. These remarks apply equally to any concern who offer us a screened plug without the permission of the owners of the master patent.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
