To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 1369 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}11/MJ.11.1.34. CYCLE-TYPE WINGS FOR BENTLEY. We have produced a set of cycle type wings for the Bentley which we intend running on the bumper. The point which is likely to give trouble with this type of wing is the breaking of the stay. We have got our Design Office to design stays and they are being made in Alloy Steel and will be tested on the bumper, if they are satisfactory we shall have to insist that these stays are used in conjunction with cycle-type wings. We are sure that the bumping test is much more severe than anything we can do on the road even in France. We ought to start our tests on the bumper in about ten days time.
