W/S. To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Llew-Byr Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}/Ld. E.3/HP.4.4.35. re Instruments for New Model. Referring to your memo Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}5/E.28.3.35, we are drawing out an instrument board suitable for SpectreCodename for Phantom III and Wraith, in which there is a large speedometer with a small clock inserted therein, instead of the two separate instruments, as you request. The remaining four small instruments can be grouped round the central large speedometer. Personally I think this makes a very attractive assembly and very practical from the point of view of the driver, and the only difficulty I know of is that of obtaining an electric clock to fit in the space. As you have pointed out, however, there are small electric clocks in use and very likely if we press Messrs. Smith's hard enough we shall get what we want. I will send you a print of the scheme as soon as it is available. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
