TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} x7960 EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/15.1.30. COPY TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (for C.S.C.) FRONT NUMBER-PLATE BRACKET. PHANTOM 2. +7770 x7960 WE SEND HEREWITH N.Sch.3012. shewing the proposed bracket for supporting the front number-plate on the front crossmember of the chassis. If DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} is still in Derby we wish you to get him to sign the design. The scheme has been made at the request of Sales, as a result of complaints that the present position of the plate, no matter whether fixed high or low, has been considered by some authorities to be illegal. We have made a bracket which will look as neat as possible when used in conjunction with a Barker Type of apron, and which is also suitable for use when no apron is fitted. As Sales are anxious to have this bracket as standard in the place of the present one as soon as possible we suggest that you take the matter up with "C". On our part, DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} has expressed his opinion that no 10.000 miles test is required. Will BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} please send a print of this drawing to Sales, and send us two prints, as we want one for sending to "P". EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
