Shane R.{Sir Henry Royce} Chichester, Esq., The Rough, Tilford, FARNHAM. Dear Mr. Chichester, Many thanks for your letter of July 31st. I hope this letter will reach you before you leave for your holidays. I may simply say that I wish you a happy holiday with the best of weather. I note that you are not coming up to Scotland this year but whenever an opportunity arises you will look over our Factory. In reply to your P.S. we have no hesitation in stating that our super tyre will give an average mileage of 30,000 miles on an ordinary high power private car. It is simply a question of designing exactly the right type of tyre for the particular model of car. In America our super service low pressure tyres are guaranteed for 30,000 miles so that you will see that the statement I make above is if anything on the conservative side. During the last few years practically all the development in tyre construction from a long wearing point of view has taken place on the large bus pneumatic tyres. The India Company started developing their private car tyres as soon as they had proved that exceptionally high mileages could be obtained from pneumatic tyres when properly designed for each type of vehicle and constructed of the highest possible materials. Our super private car tyre was put on the market by them last year. I will not expect to hear from you till after you have returned from your holiday. In/ | ||
