BENTLEY REAR AXLE.
Can you please let us know the cost of the following work if carried out in the Repair Dept.
Fit strengthened axle shafts to GCD.23.
You will note this means new shafts, hubs, wheel drivers, differential boxes, resetting the axle gears and skimming the brake drums when transferred to the new hubs.
We should like to know the cost of this work compared with merely changing broken axle shafts for more of the existing type.
If we could have this information before the Depot Conference on Tuesday next, so much the better.
