X. 3398 G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} EFC. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. W/S. BY3-P16.11.23. In view of the complaints made by Sales that the P. & R.{Sir Henry Royce} Battery produced with the box combined with the Battery as a unit, is unsatisfactory to coach-builders, we have now made arrangements with the P. & R.{Sir Henry Royce} Co. to rearrange the cells of their Battery in a different manner and supply them in a box with handles, in a unit, precisely like the Exide. The symbol for the new Battery is T.B.D.9. and it should be noted this type does not have a self contained box, except the usual wooden container for the cells, and that therefore it requires a separate Battery Box when carried on the Running Board, and further, that it can be used in our standard scheme for carrying the Battery inside the Frame. This being so, Sales will be able to utilise the new Battery regularly when it is called for, instead of as at present using an Exide when the Battery is to be carried inside the Frame. BY.{R.W.
