We have tested the samples of the above material in the petrol filter situated on the 2nd. cross member. These were fitted on 29.10.37. and have given no trouble. On examination the material was found to have compressed down to half its original thickness but showed no sign of desentigration. Though the material is still too liable to settle down we consider it an improvement over the existing material cork washers in so much as it is more consistant and free from holes and cracks and we are willing to allow it to go into production chassis immediately. The Opentrom washers supplied at the same time are still being tested and will be reported on later when we have more experience of this material. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/J.B.Dixon. | ||
