To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Copy to RAG. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} x351 E.1/MN.8.7.35. FC BOWERING SPECTRECodename for Phantom III. Petrol Tank. We understand that you have ordered up nine sets of the 'D' shaped petrol tank (28 gallons) for the Olympia Show cars and three sets for the two Demonstration cars, 34-EX and 35-EX, and the Experimental car 33-EX. You have received from us a design of a square petrol tank (28 gallons) which we believe it was intended to fit to the twelve subsequent production cars. In view of the demand for a tank of increased capacity we suggest that this square tank should not be proceeded with and that we should send to you immediately a tank design giving 34 gallons. It will be possible to fit this increased capacity tank to the Demonstration and Experimental cars without change to the coachwork at some subsequent date when a tank is available.
