X.3530. - RE NEW MAGNETO DRIVES FOR 40/50 CHASSIS. X X.2762.

We consider that the new magneto drives, both the fabric coupling and the serrated type should be made so that there is provision for the magneto brake. We find that, although it is possible on some car to run without these, on others it is absolutely necessary. It is not only a question of slack in the magneto drive but in the pinion driving the magneto,
Even if we found that we could run our sets without the magneto brake we should recommend that provision was made so that the brake could be fitted if afterwards found necessary.
