Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/LL.4.3.40. We want you to be the Balancing Expert for the Experimental Dept., We are taking a particular interest in:- (1) Crankshaft dynamic balancing. (2) Balancing of complete engine, as illustrated recently in the S.A.E. Journal. Olley has sent us a good deal of information on balancing machines and we have also written to him for full particulars of the apparatus that Buick's are using. Will you please get hold of the American file and read all the information available. The 2 points we want settling are:- (1) What crankshaft dynamic balancing machine we shall purchase. (2) Whether it is worth getting a machine for checking the balance of an engine when it is completely assembled. When you have assimilated the available information we will have a discussion on the subject. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
