Extract from H.E.West's report WD.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}85.

The S.E.V. Co. exhibit a dual ignition device incorporating a rotating magnet, magneto and battery ignition set. This, they claim, enables one to obtain for slow speed works (presumably by some switching arrangement) the advantages of battery ignition, and for high speed, the energetic spark of the magneto. The magneto armature is used as the ignition coil, one contact breaker and distributor only being use provided.
