This will reduce the rate of development of backlash in the linkage system, and therefore, by reducing the loss of effective linkage advance occasioned thereby, would to some extent make up for the B.T.H. having a smaller range intrinsically. These magnetos have now both been listened to at slow speeds in their respective chassis, and whereas in these circumstances one of these appears to be as noisy as the average Watford machine, the other one appears to be an improvement on that other.
