Published in agreement with The Electric Lamp Manufacturers' Association of Great Britain, Limited. SPECIFICATION. TYPES OF LAMPS. 1. The following types of Tungsten Filament Electric Lamps for Automobiles are referred to in this Specification :โ Head Lights (Gasfilled). Side, Tail and Dash Lights (Vacuum). VOLTAGES. 2. The voltages of lamps referred to in this Specification shall be 6 and 12 volts. RATING. 3. The rated volts and watts shall be the volts and watts marked by the manufacturer on the lamp in accordance with Table I. DIMENSIONS. 4. The overall dimensions of lamps shall be in accordance with Figs. A, B and C. FILAMENT. 5. The filament shall be of tungsten, disposed symmetrically in the bulb and supported so as to burn satisfactorily when the lamp is fixed at any angle. The filament shall be uniform in appearance, both at rated and half-rated voltages. The form, dimensions and location of filament shall be in accordance with Table I. Where dimensions are given for position of light centre (Fig. A) they indicate the distance from filament centre to the bulb side of cap pin. CAPS. 6. The caps for Head, Side, Tail, and Dash Lights shall be straight-sided, of either of the following two types :โ (a) Small Bayonet Double-Contact Cap (Fig. D). (b) Small Bayonet Centre-Contact Cap (Fig. E). All caps shall be accurately fitted and securely attached to the bulbs with a suitable cement, so that they shall not become loose with reasonable usage. The shell shall be of plated brass, or other suitable material. SMALL BAYONET CAP HOLDER. 7. The Small Bayonet Cap Holder shall be in accordance with Fig. F.{Mr Friese} P.T.O. 3 Sheets. Sheet No. 1.
