We send herewith LeC.2470 dealing with the above.

This drg. shews a plain bearing carrier wheel which is rendered necessary owing to the new positions of the carrier wheel centre relative to the damper flywheel. At the same time the damper flywheel has been reduced in dia. by .5" particulars of which modification will be sent next week.

The wheelcase local to the water pump drive pinion has been reduced in radius, the nuts for this housing having been drawn in behind the wheel so that it is first necessary to remove the wheel when dismantling the drive. This has the effect of saving weight and cost. Particulars of the means of lubrication for this spindle will be sent later.

A revision of the front end of the camshaft is shewn on this drg. The present ball journal plain bearing and ball thrust washer is replaced by a single plain journal and thrust. This considerably simplifies the design and leaves room for an eccentric on the back of the camshaft wheel for driving the vacuum pump. The camshaft wheel is built up with a steel centre and gunmetal rim. The carrier wheel is built up with a duralumin centre and G.M. rim.

The dia. of the body of the wheelcase and its flange is reduced to suit the smaller slipper flywheel.
