Dear Sirs,

Referring to your letter of the 9th inst. (ref. WLH/CO) we note that you are surprised to learn that we are having trouble with the bushes at the ends of the shock absorber arms, and that in your opinion wear here should not occur.

There is no doubt about the phenomena; so far as we are concerned, wear does take place, and in order that you may have the matter clearly before you we propose to send you the next that occurs, so that you can give the matter consideration, after which we will be quite pleased to arrange for an interview, at which the phenomena concerned and your remedy could be discussed.

In regard to the question of maximum load, which you consider desirable in order to obtain satisfactory service, we are well inside the 45 lbs. maximum you specify, as when used in accordance with our recommendations we only allow for a 30 lb. pull, and therefore this cannot be the cause of the trouble.

In regard to your last paragraph, dealing with the Multiplex type, we have had no failures from end pressure, and in view of the position outlined above it is evident that our recommendations are quite moderate, and
