Lucas R.100 Headlamps
Re-arranging for English and
Continental Conditions.

There is one suggestion I would like to make to the scheme as detailed in Ey.6/G.9.3.38., and that is to use plungers of a modified length, which we have been trying, controlling the amount of the dip of the reflector, which is found to be more satisfactory than the present standard dip which is rather excessive.

The new plunger is 2 1/16" long overall, and Lp.{Mr Lappin}, who has been using this in the R.100 lamps on his Bentley, states that in his view the scheme is much better, and the dip is still sufficient not to call forth objectionable flashing of headlights from drivers of oncoming cars.

Perhaps, therefore, you would kindly bear this in mind - and if necessary confirm our impressions - and arrange with Lucas' that the lesser dip shall be standardised.
