BY RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} } FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X7090 E2/M23.5.31. re. HIGHER LIFT CAMS FOR P.2. It is desired to produce a camshaft for P. 2. using 2 new cam forms of .050 greater camlift, which it is thought will go in the existing crankchamber and be of longer duration than the existing cams. R.{Sir Henry Royce} would like to hear how long it would take you to get out the new lift curves and produce the necessary forms in the shop. He would prefer to do this rather than test the R.{Sir Henry Royce} engine cams on the P. 2. engine as we are almost certain to increase the lift and duration, and the test with the R.{Sir Henry Royce} engine cams would only represent work that would have to be done all over again.
