700 Es.1/T.8.9.41. MEETING TO DISCUSS MYTH PROGRESS. Present:- Es. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} Ra/LH.{Mr Haworth} Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/JD.{J. Draper - Frames} -------------------- The meeting was held on Friday, 8th August, to discuss progress of Myth. It was agreed that Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} should be responsible for ensuring that all the parts other than those instructed to HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} had been ordered and were likely to be available by the time we were ready to build the chassis. It was agreed that we were going to build two chassis simultaneously, and therefore there should be two sets of parts. A list was submitted by Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/JD.{J. Draper - Frames}, showing the parts which were to be bought out and those that were to be made by HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} This will be taken as the basic LOP. for the chassis. The question of the rear axle was discussed, since it is thought that there may only be one of these in existence. Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/JD.{J. Draper - Frames} agreed to contact Hardy Spicer and check up on the situation. If we cannot get another of the right type of axle, it was agreed that we should use the one already available, which was built for the Ripplette. Each section of the specification was gone through. Ra/LH.{Mr Haworth} said he was in a position to issue all the remainder of the drawings by 9th August. As soon as the last drawings have gone, Es. will follow them up with a note to HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} and the master LOP. Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/JD.{J. Draper - Frames} pointed out that the Tecalemit lubrication had not yet been finalised. This would definitely receive attention as soon as circumstances permitted. Referring to the minutes of the last meeting with Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} (Es.3/T.25.6.41), it was noted that the target date of 31st August had been given and agreed to by all at the meeting. Es. would write to Ward and say that the chassis was practically finished and waiting for the body. Es. | ||
