To sum up we may say that from experience gained from a previous test of this Nature Lead Bronze is no more susceptible to intermittent shortages of oil than white metal.

In view of the trouble which is being experienced with the .475 reduction gear the condition of the gear fitted to K.II MS 93 is commented on. This was a standard (LOP.L.36095) .553 ratio gear and was in excellent condition there being no signs of plucking or overheating. The total time which this gear has run under load without oil is 1 hour 17 mins. for individual periods extending to 45 secs. duration.
