SpectreCodename for Phantom III Suspension.

The spherical shackles recently fitted to No.1 car were very successful in eliminating sideways movement in the rear seat ride. We should therefore like to try the full Cadillac scheme of rubber shackles.

We send you herewith sketches Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1910/11, showing how we think this can be done with the minimum of alteration to existing parts.

A new top leaf spring is required, having location of the rubbers in the middle as shown. The shackle pins are unaltered and one or two bushes eliminated. We are not sure whether the rear shackle piece itself will require altering to prevent fouling with the increased diameter of spring eye.
