For the attention of Mr. West.

Dear Sirs,

We regret we have not been able to submit samples to you yet of the new type battery for the 40/50 H.P. Chassis but the container makers have made a muddle over the medallion.

They should have made the tools so that our standard medallion which they have is interchangeable with the Exide one. Unfortunately, however, they have not done so and it means that we have got to have a new medallion engraved. This will take another week or ten days at least.

We are wondering whether if you are urgently requiring samples you would object to our sending in the samples in the containers with the Exide name scraped off. In all other respects the batteries will be exactly as we shall supply to you.

We have already had a sample container which is satisfactory but we did not like to submit it until it had our own medallion on it.

We find that we promised you that we should let you have the samples by the middle of May and we should have done so except for this unfortunate mistake.

Perhaps you will be kind enough to let us know what you wish us to do in the matter.

Yours faithfully,

PETO & RADFORD. C.P. Hallett
