1044 To Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/MH.{M. Huckerby}28.11.39. Many thanks for your note on Tachometer Drive. I do not think that we can abandon the rev counter on the Bentley type of vehicle at present. In addition, one of the advantages of the 8-cylinder is that it will run up to 4,500 revs quite happily, and again, the 6-cylinder, as long as we retain the spring drive at the front end, will run to 4,500 satisfactorily. Therefore, I think we should scheme a rev drive for the 8 and 6-cylinder Cast Iron engines in the rationalised range. Thanks for the information about the aluminium engine. We will deal with this.
