specially calibrated spring wheel designed so that we can ascertain the efficiency at any part of the movement of the gear without being dependent upon the dead vertical position of the weight.

The bottom curve, which we call the gear efficiency under impact, is obtained by measuring the lbs. pressure momentary flick on our spring steering wheel when the weight is dropped from a known height vertically by means of a guide rod on to the drop, arm, as shewn in the accompanying blue print P.2737. The momentary movement at the rim of the steering wheel under the same conditions is given on this blue print, and we also enclose a table on which the whole of this information is given side by side.

We trust that these curves, illustrations and figures give you all the information you require, but as stated in our previous letter we shall be happy to supply you with samples which you can test under your own conditions, and also on road conditions, which to our mind is the finest and surest test of all.

Also as previously mentioned, we make Cams of varying ratios and helix angles to suit various types and weights of cars, and also their peculiarities in regard to road re-action.

Your further instructions will receive our careful and close attention.

Yours faithfully,
for ADAMANT ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED.

P. Carlton Smith

Director.
