Drawing No. X No. 8460 Description of Parts: PETROL TANK WITH IMPROVED SIDE FILLER Origin: To improve design. Experimental Test Report. The new tank has the following new features - (1) Large size sidefiller. (2) Reserve compartment. (3) Double petrol filters much larger area of gauze. (4) RR. level indicator. Road Test Report. Fitted to 11-EX - run 18,000 miles. Fitted to 7-EX - run 7,000 miles. Modifications have been made to level indicator and side filler to overcome original complaints. A Scrap and replace at all costs, including Chassis already delivered to customers. B Scrap and replace on Chassis in works. C Scrap present stock and replace on all Chassis not yet handed to test.
