Attention of Mr. R.M. Child

Dear Sirs,

Thank you very much for your kind letter, and we are all naturally pleased that you are able to manifest interest in Suppressors and additionally happy that you mention the Erie strain elements.

The writer recalls with pleasure Mr. Child's coupling of the name of Mr. Shaw with the subject of these latter elements, and on the subject of this, the writer would like you to accept for your examination and possible trial, one of these elements which in this particular instance we have copper sprayed at the ends in order to facilitate electrical connection.

The data regarding these elements is a little diffuse. In the first instance, we believe it is historically correct to associate the work of Dr. Postlethwaite while at Cossor's with the early developments of these strain elements; then the affair overflowed into official channels and
