Voltage to operate cut-outs.

| | on Battery test. | On dynamo test. |
|-----------|----------------------------|-----------------|
| | Cold. | Hot. | Cold. | Hot. |
|-----------|----------------------------|-------|-------|-------|
| Lucas A.{Mr Adams} | 13.1 (later 12.6 - 12.8) | 15.5 | 12.2 | 16.0 |
|-----------|----------------------------|-------|-------|-------|
| Lucas B. | 15.5 (later 11.0 - 16.0) | 17.0 | 11.4 | 16.0 |

It should be stated that in the above table the hot condition on the dynamo test was at a somewhat higher temperature than the hot condition on the battery test.

In the case of the Smith cut-out, owing to the change of adjustment, we give the comparative figures for cold condition only, which are as follows :-

| | Battery test cold. | Dynamo test. cold. |
|-----------|--------------------|--------------------|
| Smith (1) | 13.9 - 14.8 | 12.5 |
|-----------|--------------------|--------------------|
| Smith (2) | 13.2 - 13.9 | 12.5 |

The complete results of the tests now being reported for the two Lucas cut-outs A and B and for another Lucas cut-out C, also for the two Smith cut-outs, are exhibited in the following tables.

The first column refers to condition (1),(2), (3) or (4) described above. The last column gives the
