HEATING OF FRONT SEATS Cont.

Mr. Nadin suggested in order to enable the warmth in the front seats to be adjusted, that large adjustable ventilators or doors should be fitted in the partition between the engine and the space under the floor boards.

The Committee agreed that this should be incorporated in Mr. Spinney's design.

The Committee further agreed that the scheme in hand for the double floor boards should be abandoned.

Mr. Johnson said : "I congratulate Mr. Spinney. This has been one of the blots on the R.{Sir Henry Royce} R.{Sir Henry Royce}"

Re Ventilators fitted to the "Delaunay Belleville" Scuttle Dash.

In connection with this scheme it has been agreed that Mr. Spinney should design a ventilation scheme similar to that shown on the Napier chassis at Olympia, having a gap arranged between the chassis dash and a special body dash, which could be closed by means of shutters.

Mr. Johnson said : "Any patents ?"

Mr. Barrington informed the Committee that Mr. Spinney was holding this scheme up until definite results had been obtained from the alternative scheme of allowing the heated air to escape from under the bonnet before reaching the pedal space.
