To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} X1370 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}14/KW.6.4.36. With reference to the comparison of large and small carburetters on Brooklands, I am disappointed with those figures. In the first place, they do not include consumption comparisons which should have been taken to and from the track. In the second place, two cars were provided for the test in order that a double changeover might be made with the head that did so well in France on the last 15,000 miles test. The results show that only one test was done on 3-B-IV. The figures show that the head which was originally on 3-B-IV put up the maximum speed on 6-B-IV by over 2 m.p.h. a lap, which was a very considerable improvement, and yet no effort was made to check this figure. An incomplete test of this nature after the facilities offered is not satisfactory and does not do credit to the tester concerned.
