" Kenyon. Messrs Bentley & Coley. ROYCE LTD. MANCHESTER. Dear Mr. Bentley, [Coley is struck through] Now I understand you have in full running order two passably good Fellowes gear shapers, and one large Sunderland. These you should have well supplied with mandrils and cutters. If not, get ample stock, and a satisfactory machine for keeping the cutters sharp. They must be kept sharp or they take much more time to sharpen, and cost much more for new cutters. All other gear cutters will be scrapped, or only used for spare parts. I should like to see all other systems abandoned. All gears where there is interference are modified in addendum and dedendum until interference is avoided, both in the Sunderland and the Fellowessystems. Yours faithfully, A.H. Royce | ||
