Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 9th, together with details of your steering gear.

This is of interest to us as it operates on the same principle as that fitted to Rolls-Royce cars. We should be interested to know what the forward and reverse efficiency of the Rover steering is when it is perfectly new, and whether this alters appreciably when it is run in. Also what helix angle is actually used on the Rover car.

If it is of interest to you we could give you some figures on our own gear.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
