ADJUSTING SCREW FOR CROSS STEERING ROD BALL JOINTS. Origin. To provide more clearance between adjusting screw head and wheel. Experimental Test Report. This new screw has the square for turning formed in a recess instead of being formed on the end of the screw. It is similar to the 40/50 screw. These new screws are essential if discs are fitted to the wire wheels. Road Test Report. Fitted to 4-G-11 - run 1000 miles. Fitted to 3-G-11 - run 300 miles. This alteration cannot effect the running or reliability. A Scrap and replace at all costs, including Chassis already delivered to customers. B Scrap and replace on Chassis in works. C Scrap present stock and replace on all Chassis not yet handed to test. D Use existing stock Alteration effective on future Chassis.
