Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.5/AML1.2.32 contd. -2- With regard to the 20/25 and J.III batteries, they have looked into the question of the universal battery for these cars and find that they can give us practically the same battery as the Chloride Co. The new 20/25 battery will be called 2/3-BDHL/7A. The new 40/50 battery will be called 2/3-BDHL-11-A and the overall dimensions will be practically identical with the Exide. We raised the question of moulded battery lids and they stated that by far the large majority of batteries supplied by them to car makers were supplied without lids, and they stated that an extra charge of approx. 6/- per battery will be necessary with the moulded lid.{A. J. Lidsey} They think our suggestion of putting a lid{A. J. Lidsey} on the battery box itself to be more sound than just a moulded lid{A. J. Lidsey} on the battery as the handle slots allow a considerable amount of mud and water to dry through on to the top of the battery whereas a metal battery box lid{A. J. Lidsey} completely protects not only the top of the battery but the sides from moisture and mud which might cause leakage. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/wst. | ||
