Y4117 To Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} (Paris). From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/MJ.26.6.31. Replying to Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/VA2/MLG.23.6.31. We have recently got Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} to agree to fitting higher compression on to certain customers who demand the maximum performance. To do this it means changing the cylinder head. This alteration does not increase the maximum speed to any marked extent, but it does give better acceleration and an impression of more power. We have been able to satisfy customers with this alteration. We recommend that you get Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} to agree to this modification being fitted to 161-GY.
