The synchro mesh change gear works very well indeed. As it happened, there was also a Buick car here fitted with synchro mesh which we could compare it with. The scheme fitted to the 25 HP. works better than the Buick. This could be accounted for chiefly by the fact that we have a four speed box compared with their three. The net result is that we have now a gearbox which gives us an easy change second to third, third to top, top to third. The third speed gear under power is definitely more silent than the present standard gear. The only complaint we have is that the engine idling with the constant mesh gears make a certain amount of noise. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
