I fully realize Mr Royce's point about the boots & that the present pedals are a compromise. It seems to me that the relative positions of the seat & pedals should be allowed to matter as little as possible. The long-legged driving-owner may have, if not to-day then tomorrow, a short legged driver who is over-reached. When this man's feet in an emergency stop behind an obstruction, fly up the pedals the result is disaster. Under less serious circumstances gear changing is difficult & uncertain. It is a common thing to find our pedals fitted with rubber covers but of course this may be for heat.
